He has acted for investment funds, overseas investors, residential and real estate developers, housing associations, central and local government and contractors. He provides clear, commercial advice on a broad range of construction matters including building contracts, consultant appointments, infrastructure contracts and development agreements.

Investment Funds: Stuart has advised a number of UK investment funds on a full range of construction matters including asset management advice, large scale refurbishment and development as well as due diligence on acquisitions. This included advising on the construction of a new office development providing approximately 76,000 sq ft of accommodation in South East England.
Overseas Investors: Lead adviser to a hedge fund with a portfolio of UK commercial and residential real estate property. Stuart has advised on the redevelopment of a shopping centre in Bristol to provide 420 homes and retail, leisure, office and community space. He also leads a wider team on debt recovery and real estate disposal. Stuart has also advised in Middle East based investor on its UK real estate transactions, with a focus on student accommodation and the private rented sector, including the acquisition, funding and development of a £150 million scheme in Manchester.
Residential and Real Estate Developers: Stuart has provided procurement and contract advice for the construction of a variety of schemes. Highlights include a joint venture to provide 1,000 new homes, a hotel and retail space in East London.
Housing Associations: Stuart has sector specific expertise in advising housing associations, and developers working with housing associations, on property development. His work includes joint ventures, assisting with development finance and agreements with housebuilders.
Government: Stuart led the construction team advising a local authority on a landmark regeneration scheme in North London. Advice included procurement of a remediation and the award of call-off contracts as well as advice on the procurement and methodology and contracts for delivery partners. He has also been a long-standing adviser to a central government body in respect of development finance.
Contractors: Using his extensive knowledge of the employer market, Stuart has provided practical commercial advice to contractors to enable them to manage their risks effectively and win more work. This includes advice to a national contractor on new-build development and maintenance contracts.
