Since we issued the above summary of the proposals the bill received Royal Assent on 12 November 2009. Since then the LDEDC Act has been in further consultation and this has not yet finished, although the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has indicated that it will come into force on 1st April 2011 or (failing that) 1st October 2011. We will continue to monitor developments and provide further updates in due course.
