The Bribery Act 2010 (the "Act") came into force on 1st July 2011. The Act replaces the previous anti-bribery regime, which
had long been criticised for its various inadequacies in dealing with the complex bribery and corruption cases brought before
the courts in recent years. The Act provides a comprehensive scheme which addresses the various threats posed by bribery
within the context of modern business.
